I like the simple process of posting a job and getting qualified users to respond. I have used Upwork mainly to create new blog posts. I also like that I don't have to commit to hiring a writer or an employee, and instead, I can get help on a task or project basis. I also like how easy the payment system is. I know that I will not get scammed and that my money for payment of the job is secure until the work is complete.

Sometimes some I get so many qualified responses to the job offer that it can be overwhelming.

I am getting the assistance that I need for my business and getting it on my terms. I can set what I want and need in the job and easily find the help to accomplish it.

I can search for exactly what I need, for the budget I have in mind. I have even found long-term relationships with many contractors. Communication is awesome as well.

Sometimes it gets confusing how to pay the contracts.

I have not really run into many problems. The benefits are finding great people to work on various short and long-term projects from financial to graphics.

I am so grateful for Upwork. I have been on the site since it acquired Elance. Since being on Upwork I have worked with numerous Enterprise clients including Nestle, Bissell, and Johnson and Johnson. I love that I can do work that I am passionate about on my own schedule.

I absolutely LOVE Upwork. The one thing I would change is that clients should not be able to post jobs without first having their payment verified. Additionally, Talent Specialists should not suggest freelancers to jobs in which they have not properly vetted.

Any problem I've ever had has been with unresponsive or rude Clients. Early on I had my identity stolen because one of the Upwork Talent Specialists recommend a job to me. However, the client was not properly vetted and ended up stealing my identity. When I let Upwork know they helped me by securing Experian for me. The benefits of Upwork are vast. I can be a professional while also having the flexibility to be a mom.

Central location for getting work that is suited to my skill set.

The support process is a bit slow when you need something quick.

I am solving my biggest problem, finding business. The best benefit for using Upwork is that it's a central location to bid and manage all of my business.

Upwork is my go to for technology that we cannot do ourselves. Never had a bad experience with upwork consultants! They seem to be available at all hours too.

I can’t say that I have had any dislikes.

Upwork lets me find a great match between my services/skills and the needs of my clients. I can work on my schedule and also feels like I'm contributing greatly to my clients needs.

It can be difficult to get started on the platform and build a presence. There is a lot of competition from other freelancers so you need to make sure your skills and work stand out from the rest.

Upwork allows me to find clients all over the world that I wouldn't have access to otherwise as a freelancer. They also have a great payment protections for freelancers to ensure that I get paid in a timely manner and for work that I've done. In their top rated program they give proven freelancers a chance to remove some bad feedback from clients because sometime a job just doesn't go the way you expect.

Where you could be trawling the Internet looking for work, Upwork puts the potential jobs right in front of you. You can find work in all of these niches: Copywriting, IT and Technical, Virtual Assistance, Sales and Marketing and many more.

Some projects are the USA specific. Especially with my skill sets, which is much in demand in the USA, Upwork has the option to post projects only for USA, which can not be applied by any Indian website developer like me.

I have many issues come up during my tenure with Upwork and notifying the same to their support, quickly brings an answer to all my issues. I can then take a decision based on their response.

The most helpful was to make an Agency and grow my team. I was able to add people of various skills working together for clients across the globe.

I won't say a dislike, but an improvement could be some recognition awards for each discipline or may a kind of social network within Upwork users. Where people can meet each other, get acquainted, and can help in growing.

I would say my business is 70% dependent on Upwork. 70% of my client are from Upwork only. It's helping me exploiting the potential of mine my team and to the maximum extent. I can confortably say that I am in business because of upwork only.

Upwork is a pool of community of who need and who want to freenlancing services like graphics design, website design,copywritting, email marketing among others.

The only clause i have is that it isn't easy to get a job as a beginner on upwork. Thank you. Please make it easy for Nigerians especially.

Offering my freelancing skill on upwork and sending proposals for jobs.

A lot of jobs are constantly being posted in the Upwork platform. Being a Mechanical engineer, it's almost impossible to find a freelance job posting anywhere else online other than Upwork that suits your expertise. I have experimented with nearly every other platform there is, and for a Mechanical engineer, it's the only option out there. The job posted are specific, and there's something for every spectrum of your expertise out there. Communication with the client is straightforward, and it feels secure to apply and spend precious time on the job with Upwork's client and the client's payment verification methods. It's easy to track time with its windows software. Also it has its own discussion forum, and their feedback is very quick. They even reply on facebook. It's that good. This makes it really easy to handle disputes or solve any queries quickly.

No comments really on the interface and its usability, but if there was an option for loading my balance into my prepaid dollar card, It'd benefit me immensely. Also, the exchange rate is relatively expensive compared to the market. I wonder why that is. It would be great to have the money received in the near exchange rate, given that Upwork charges us with a transaction fee for the transfer already.

I'm using it as a side hustle. I have a full-time job somewhere else, and in my free time, I search for new jobs, apply and earn extra cash. It has helped me get a few extra cups of coffee everyday.

I like upwork because it gives me simultaneous access to new opportunities generate revenue for my family and work and meet new contractors to help execute those opportunities.

I would like to see more of an emphasis on contractor to hire initiatives. I think Upwork has great potential in that area.

I am helping small businesses transition from old school dialing for dollars to sophisticated lead generation strategies most businesses think are out their price range or skill set. Help these businesses grow has been really rewarding and profitable.

Fees could be lower for freelancers that have good history on the platform.

It's a great way to find clients with minimal effort

Upwork is a stellar platform for freelancers who want to get work consistently. I joined almost 4 years ago and have worked for some stellar clients that pay very well. The ease of navigating the site, as well as the systems they have in place to set up contracts, give feedback and even the way they calculate a freelancer's "success score" is a cut above any other freelancer site on the internet.

There's not much to dislike--if anything. I know many freelancers complain of low-paying clients on there and that's simply not true. I've gotten some A-list clients on there from the start.

In the slow times, "mining" leads for new work is always possible when you have a reliable site like Upwork online. They're arguably the biggest freelancer site on the 'net and obviously have a large marketing budget to attract the clientele who come through their portal. 2.3 million contracts a year going through their site? That says everything.

20% is a pretty steep commission for new accounts; the keypad on Upworks mobile apps is cumbersome; a lot of connects are lost due to jobs being cancelled.

Maintaining a freelance business has never been easier.

It allows freelancers to work on both hourly and fixed-price contracts. The communication mode with a client may be via Phone call, Upwork Call or Zoom. Milestones can also be set on fixed contracts. Everything is okay provided all the terms are fully followed.

The commission or fees charged is too much. A whopping 20% seems much. However, after earning over 500 USD, the fee is reduced to 10% and this is particular to each client.

This gave me the privilege to work with different people, different companies from different locations. Though covid-19 ruined many things but really helped freelancers who worked from home.

What I like best about Upwork: Large amount of high-paying clients and high-paying freelancers looking to get work done. And the ease of being able to find these people using Upwork's system.

Talent specialists (the Upwork employees who get paid to invite freelancers to your job posting on the behalf of you, the client.) Freelancers and clients both hate these useless people. What I also dislike, as a freelancer, is the inability to see a client's hiring history/their "profile" if they send me an offer without me first applying or being invited to their job posting. As a client, I'm really satisfied by Upwork. They've come a long way in making the platform easy to use for hiring. It still needs a few improvements on the freelancer side, but I'm confiden they'll get there.

The first person I hired was a graphic designer for 2 businesses. I needed one for mine, and my friend needed one for hers. That went pretty well, I was able to find someone who was really passionate about their work. I also hired someone to make sure I wake up and am in bed at specific times of the day, lol. That also went really well.

I like the ability to choose which projects I want to apply to / accept an interview for.

I dislike that Upwork has such a long period of having to commit to working with the client on the platform before branching off elsewhere.

I am growing my skill set, and helping business grow in doing so. I have benefited from the ability to work how and when I want, and have built partnerships with agencies and advertisers in ways that I did not expect possible on an online freelance platform!

Quick access to projects. You can be a beginner or a seasoned veteran in your space and you will get lots of project possibilities.

Huge fees and lack of calendaring integrations. They require you communicate through theit platform but they don't include the ability to integrate with calendars.

The problem of sales. Getting sales as a beginner was tough. Upwork made that easy.
